Making Ways Opportunities for Sheffield Visual Artists

Making Ways is delighted to announce two opportunities which support the development of visual artists based in Sheffield.

  1. Open Call for Commissions:
    Deadline Wednesday 8 March 5pm

    We are inviting proposals from visual artists to develop and deliver an inspiring range of high calibre cultural activities in the Summer of 2017. Commissions will be for public facing Visual Arts projects, which might take the form of exhibitions, participatory projects and/or one off events.
    Projects should be rooted in contemporary art practice although may include a variety of medium: drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, collage and installations; live art; film based disciplines such as photography, artists’ film and video, digital and/or interactive works; environmental, land art and street art; ceramics, textiles, metalwork and applied arts.

  1. Ways of Making:
    Deadline Wednesday 8 March 5pm
    Working in partnership with Making ways, Yorkshire Artspace are offering a new two-year programme. This project will fund six opportunities for artists to show work at Persistence Works, develop projects and reach a wider audience. Mentoring, marketing and technical support is also offered.

Making Ways is a three-year project, funded by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence strand and a range of partners, that will demonstrate, celebrate and develop exceptional contemporary visual art produced in Sheffield.
